Darkness and Light

John 1:5 (AMPC) “And the light shines in darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it, or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

Darkness can never overpower light. Darkness always runs from light. When light is present, it cannot remain. They have nothing in common. When light leaves, darkness can come, but darkness never forces light away. Rather, light, with no effort whatsoever, causes darkness to flee. They cannot coexist. Is darkness encroaching? Are shadows forming? Is it because your light is dim? Turn up the light and it will retreat.
