We think, “Lord, deal with me. Correct me. Fix me. I can’t do right.” We think we need to be disciplined by the Lord. We figure our chastisement is surely coming. But the Lord says that this won’t help. We would just continue to rebel. And why? It is not that we need a beating. It’s that we need a healing.

An ordinary man received healing. He didn’t have a VIP pass. All the more-importants got in before him. All the more-ables got in before him. But this was the one who received healing.

Lord, You know what’s best, and are doing what’s best for us, yet, if we plead with You and insist on our own ways and desires, You will let us have them.

Darkness always runs from light.
